The Xray team is proud to announce the release of Xray 7.7.0.

We understand that migrating to Jira and Xray Cloud can be disruptive. That's why we're prioritizing improvements to streamline the migration process and minimize downtime for Xray users.

Upgrade Notes

Downgrading from Xray 7.7.0 to a version previous than 7.6.0 may have the following side effects:

Until Xray 7.6.0, Xray DC only supported the Test types below

KindTest Type/ Pre-Condition Type
StepsManual
Gherkin

Cucumber, Automated[Cucumber], Gherkin, Behave, SpecFlow, Behat

UnstructuredGeneric, Automated[Generic], Other

  • If you create a new Custom Type and map it to a Kind, when downgrading, Xray will not know about this mapping and will assume it is an Unstructured Test.
    • For example, you create a Type called "Hierarchical Steps" and map it to the Kind Steps. When downgrading, the testers will see the Xray UI of an Unstructured Test. When changing the Test type to Manual, the data and correct UI will be shown.

Migration Improvements

We've streamlined the migration process from Xray Server/DC to Cloud with several enhancements:

  • Enhanced migration reliability: We've upgraded our services to utilize newer versions of migration listeners, minimizing the likelihood of errors during the migration process.
  • More comprehensive project dependency identification: The Jira Cloud Migration Assistance feature now displays a more detailed listing of all projects and dependencies, ensuring a smoother migration.
  • Pre-flight check with mandatory task validation: Our pre-flight check has been enhanced to include more validations of essential Xray tasks, helping identify and address potential issues before migration begins.
