Revamped Xray Issue Picker DialogDialog (wink)

The issue picker dialog used to associate the different Xray issue types(e.g. add Tests to a Test Execution) as been revamped to provide a better user experience. Very handy improvements were also implemented, some of which enabling Risk Based Testing by providing capabilities such as sorting and filter customization.

This dialog is now divided into three tabs:

  • Select, allows users to select issues directly from their history search (issues that have been accessed recently) 
  • Search, allows users to search for issues using Jira and Xray custom filters
  • JQL, using JQL, users can query issues in Jira

Configurable filters

You can now add any filters available in Jira to filter issues. Some default filters are provided by default. Additional filters can be configured just by adding new filters from any available filter in Jira as well as internal Xray filters.

The results table now provides the ability for users to configure which columns they want to see, as well as sorting the table using any visible column. T

Xray now provides a built-in migration utility for Zephyr for Jira, so you can easily migrate to Xray and take advantage of the many features Xray provides over Zephyr.

As you may still have some projects using Zephyr for Jira, you may now inline migrate the Tests and related data to Xray following a wizard.

This specific utility is available in Jira administration, under System > Import and Export > External System ExportIt is now possible to sort the Test Runs table within a Test Execution. Initially this table was not sortable because users can rerank the Test Runs with drag-n-drop. Starting from v3.4.0 of Xray, the Test Runs table is now sortable and whenever the table is sorted by the original rank in ascending direction, users can still rerank Test Runs using drag-n-drop. However, if the table is sorted by a column other than rank, the drag-n-drop option to rerank is disabled.

Besides adding time based filters to the Test Runs Summary gadget, now you can also group Test Runs by Test (key).

The Test Evolution, Test Runs List, Test Runs Summary gadgets were all improved so that you may see results for the last X number of days.

This will allow you to see and assess only the most recent information based on the information of the past days.

If you're using Structure app to view and manage Xray related entities right from a "structure", the enhanced Xray extender now provides the ability to:

  • see and manage associations between Test Plans and Test Executions
  • choose to synchronize Tests to Test Plans whenever adding/removing Tests from the related Test Executions (e.g. if you add a Test to Test Execution, it can automatically be added to the related Test Plan(s))
  • choose whether to manage or not Tests directly under Test Plans
