A Generic Test is an agnostic Test that does not contain any structure. The only field that is related to a Generic Test is itsDefinition.
Unstructured Tests can be used for both manual and automated test scenarios.
Click the Create Issue at the top of the screen to open the Create Issue dialog box / page.

Select the Project and on Issue Type, select Test.

On the Test Details tab, select the Test Type and complete all appropriate fields;
Select the Test Type as Manual and feel free to add some steps

For an automated test, theDefinitionfield can have an ID or name that maps to the external automated Test case. An example might be a JUnit test created automatically by Xray when the JUnit XML report was imported with test results.

Therefore, unstructured Tests can be used for both manual and automated test scenarios.
