Describe when someone would need this information. For example "when connecting to wi-fi for the first time".


Upon Xray's installation, a default "Tests" Link Type is created. This Link Type is the one used to associated the Test Issues with the Requirement Issues for Test Coverage.


As administrators, sometimes we would like to change the Name of this Link Type or its Outward/Inward Link Description.



Step-by-step guide

To change the Link Type Name and/or the Outward/Inward Link Description:

  1. Navigate to Jira Administration >> Issues >> Issue Features >> Issue Linking.

  2. Locate the "Tests" Link Type and click on the "Edit" Button.

  3. In the "Edit Link Type" screen, we can:
    1. Change the actual Name of the Link Type.
    2. Change the Outward Description and/or Inward Description. 
  4. Click the Update Button to save the changes.
  5. If the actual Name of the Link Type is Changed, it is necessary to perform the following steps: 
    1. Navigate to Jira Administration >> Manage Apps >> Atlassian MarketPlace >>Manage Apps >> Xray.
    2. Disable the Xray App.
    3. Enable back again the Xray App.
      1. A re-index may be necessary when re-enabling the App.

  6. Open any Test or Requirement Issue to see the changes applied.




The Default Installed Xray's Link Type should never be deleted. Deleting it will cause the Test Coverage to not work.
