At a project level, you can configure extra Test Steps Fields. These fields will be available when you create a new manual test and can be used for your team to add more information.

To configure Test Steps Fields you just need the project Administration permission, so this is something that can be done by any project admin.

Check available test steps fields

Go to your Project > Project settings > Xray Settings > Test Step Fields and check the available fields.

The available Test steps fields are:

If not needed you can disable "Data" & "Expected Result" or make them required.

You can not perform any changes on "Action".

Create new test steps fields

At Test Steps Custom Fields click "Create Test Step Field"

Select "Type" and fill the configuration settings.

Available step fields types:

Toggle Switch
Date Picker
Date Time Picker
Number
Radio Buttons
Select List
Select List (Multiple)
Text
Text (Single Line)
User Picker

Xray allows up to 6 fields enabled for a step.

Repeat Test Step Field creation

You may need to add the new Test Step Field in other projects.

If so, you need to repeat the creation of the field on all desired projects.
