Before you begin


Setting up Xray is quite simple, you just need to follow simple steps to make it completely functional. 

However, some decisions may need the input of your team, for example of a QA Manager. 



What to expect from the basic configuration?


In basic configuration:

(tick)  You will keep most of the Xray default settings - Default options are ok for most organizations.

(tick)  You will work with 1 project that has Requirements & Tests all together



What needs to be configured to start working with Xray?


  1. Issue Mapping - Set which issue types are to be considered requirements & defects
  2. Xray Issue Types - Make Xray issue types available at your projects in order to enable users to create Tests, Test Sets, Test Plans and Test Executions.



For users that come from Xray Server, please be aware that for Cloud some configurations that were made as a Global config are now configured in a "Project by Project" basis.
