# Overview

Starting with Xray Enterprise 2.0.0, the **Xray Enterprise app **is bundled with the Xray app. This simplifies licensing and installation by bundling the core functionality of Xray directly into the Enterprise app.

There are [two independent Xray apps](https://getxraydocs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/XRAYCLOUDDRAFT/pages/380764204) available on the Atlassian Marketplace:

- **Xray** (Standard/Advanced tiers). This is a standalone app for the Standard/Advanced tiers.
- **Xray Enterprise:** This is a standalone app for the Enterprise tier.

For Xray DC customers, installing **Xray Enterprise** will also automatically install the Xray app in the background. This means customers will continue to see both apps listed in their instance, but only the **[Enterprise license](https://www.getxray.app/xray-enterprise)** is required.

# Upgrading from Previous Versions

- Customers don’t need to uninstall the previous Xray app before upgrading. They simply have to update to the new version of Xray Enterprise, and the transition will happen automatically.
- The upgrade and downgrade process remains unchanged.
- Existing customers who previously held both Xray Standard and Xray Enterprise licenses will only need to renew and pay for Xray Enterprise going forward.

> ℹ️ If both licenses remain active, Atlassian Marketplace will generate renewal invoices for both. To avoid duplicate billing, customers should uninstall Xray Standard or cancel its license once they migrate to Xray Enterprise.

# Installing Xray Enterprise (DC)

1. Go to the [Atlassian Marketplace and select the Xray Enterprise](https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1229688/xray-enterprise) app.
2. Purchase and apply the license.
3. [Install the app](https://confluence.atlassian.com/upm/installing-add-ons-273875715.html).

When installed, both the Xray and Xray Enterprise apps will appear in the app list, but only the Enterprise license is required.

> ⚠️ - Automatic refunds are not issued if customers uninstall the Xray app while the license is still active.
> ⚠️ - Starting from Xray 8.0.0, the app will correctly recognize and validate the Xray Enterprise license.
