Upon Xray's installation, a default "Tests" Link Type is created. This Link Type is the one used to associate the Test Work items with the Requirement Work items for Test Coverage.

As administrators, sometimes we would like to change the Name of this Link Type or its Outward/Inward Link Description (Figure 1). Also, sometimes Tests are not added to the Test coverage, or the Test Coverage Calculations are not properly done for added Tests. 

This happens after the "Tests" Link Type is deleted and/or replaced with another Link Type.

## Changing the Link Type Name and/or the Outward/Inward Link Description

1. Navigate to Jira Administration >> Work items >> Work item features >> Work item linking.
2. Locate the "Tests" Link Type and click on the "Edit" Button.
3. In the "Edit Link Type" screen, we can:
  - Change the actual Name of the Link Type.
  - Change the Outward Description and/or Inward Description.
4. Click the Update Button to save the changes.
5. Open any Test or Requirement Work item to see the changes applied.

> ❌ - The Default Installed Xray's Link Type **must** **never be deleted**. Deleting it will cause the Test Coverage to not work. Manually re-adding the Link Type with the same Name/description will not fix the error; **you would have to reinstall Xray**.
> ❌ - Don’t change the name of the link unless you have a strong reason to.
