### March 16th, 2026

The Xray team is pleased to announce a new release for <u>[Xray Cloud](https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1211769/xray-test-management-for-jira)</u> and <u>[Xray Enterprise Cloud](https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1229688/xray-enterprise-test-management-for-jira?hosting=cloud&tab=overview)</u>, introducing **AI-powered Test Script Generation** for Xray Advanced and Xray Enterprise, as well as **Constraint Generation** for Test Case Designer.

## Introducing AI Test Script Generation

### What’s New

- **[AI-powered script generation](https://getxraydocs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/XRAYCLOUD/pages/1243774987)****:** generate automation scripts directly from Manual Tests or [Gherkin](https://getxraydocs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/XRAYCLOUD/pages/44565320) definitions using Xray AI (Figure 1).
  - **Test scope:** script generation works on **Test Work items** that contain either [Test Steps](https://getxraydocs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/XRAYCLOUD/pages/44565316) (Manual Tests) or Gherkin definitions.
  - **Automation support:** generated scripts are designed to be compatible with supported automation frameworks and workflows.
  - **Context inputs:** upload supporting files (up to **1 MB total**) to provide additional context during script generation.

### How it Works

- **Script generation:** from a supported Test, generate an automation script based on Manual Test Steps or a Gherkin scenario.
- **Refinement:** provide additional instructions to refine the generated script. Each generation supports up to **five iterations**.
- **Environment placeholders:** generated scripts may include placeholders (e.g., `<BASE_URL>` or `<USERNAME>`) that must be replaced with environment-specific values before execution.
- **Review before execution:** created scripts act as a starting point and should be reviewed and adjusted to match your project standards.

## Xray Enterprise: Test Case Designer

Xray is excited to highlight an AI enhancement to [Test Case Designer](https://getxraydocs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/XRAYCLOUD/pages/44565543).

### AI Generated Constraint Suggestions

Test Case Designer now includes [AI-powered constraint suggestions](https://getxraydocs.atlassian.net/wiki/pages/createpage.action?spaceKey=xraycloud&title=AI%20Constraint%20Generator&linkCreation=true&fromPageId=1243840513) powered by Sembi IQ (Figure 2).

This AI feature can now help you define model constraints faster and with greater confidence.

Defining constraints is one of the most important and most demanding parts of the modeling process. Done well, constraints ensure your generated scenarios reflect real business logic and can actually be executed against your system under test. This feature makes that step significantly easier, whether you're new to constraint modeling or are working through a large, complex set of business rules.

**Key Benefits:**

- **Speed** - describe your business rule in natural language and let Sembi IQ handle the rest. No more manual iterating on constraint expressions by hand.
- **Simplicity** - a new dedicated UI guides you through getting suggestions for simple constraints, multi-parameter constraints, grouping constraints, and skip constraints. No syntax knowledge required.
- **Completeness** - Sembi IQ surfaces constraints you may not have thought to add, helping you avoid gaps in your business logic coverage.

To use the feature, open the *Rules* → *Constraints* interface and describe the business rules you want to model.

Sembi IQ draws on both your description and the existing contents of your model to generate relevant suggestions. Providing additional context about your Testing goals and system under test will improve suggestion quality, but it isn't required.

> ℹ️ ## Reminder
> ℹ️
> ℹ️ If you are still on Xray Cloud 6.16.0, your Jira admin must manually update Xray to the latest version to take advantage of all recent and future releases. Within your Jira Admin screen, navigate to *Connected apps* → *Xray* → *View app details* → *Update*.

> ⚠️ With Xray Cloud version 7.5.0, Xray AI features are automatically enabled for all customers.
> ⚠️
> ⚠️ - **New licenses:** AI features will be enabled by default.
> ⚠️ - **Existing licenses:** AI features have been enabled automatically through a one-time update.
> ⚠️
> ⚠️ You do not need to take any action to enable AI features.
