# Introduction

## Overview

The [Rovo](https://www.atlassian.com/software/rovo) Test Plan Summarizer is a Rovo agent that leverages AI to generate natural language summaries of [Test Plans](https://getxraydocs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/XRAYCLOUD/pages/44565153), providing quick insights into coverage, execution progress, and results.

Test Plans can contain large amounts of data, but with Rovo Test Plan Summarizer you get a consolidated view of key information, reducing the need to manually navigate multiple screens or analyze detailed reports.

Use the Rovo Test Plan Summarizer when you need to:

- Review a Test Plan progress at a glance.
- Report status to stakeholders.
- Identify execution gaps or risks.
- Understand coverage while being anywhere in Jira.

By transforming Test data into clear, human-readable summaries, it helps both technical and non-technical stakeholders understand a Test Plan’s health and make faster, more informed decisions.

## Key Capabilities

The Rovo Test Plan Summarizer shows Test Plan status and quality based on Xray data. For now, it supports only the capabilities listed below. Other requests may return partial results.

- **Test Plan Summary: **a high-level overview of a Test Plan, including the number of Tests, linked defect counts, and overall scope.
- **Execution Progress: **shows the percentage of executed Tests and the current progress of the Test Plan.
- **Test Results Distribution: **breaks down results by status.
- **Requirements Coverage: **shows how requirements are covered by Tests and helps identify potential gaps.
- **Latest Execution Insights: **summarizes recent execution results across all environments and the most relevant outcomes.

# Operations

## How it Works

The Rovo Test Plan Summarizer integrates with Xray through APIs and retrieves key Test Plan data, including:

- Number of Tests, [Test Executions](https://getxraydocs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/XRAYCLOUD/pages/44565117), and [Runs](https://getxraydocs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/XRAYCLOUD/pages/44565109).
- Linked requirements and coverage status.
- Test result distribution (Pass, Fail, Blocked).
- Latest Test Plan data (execution results and environments).

Using this data, Rovo generates a concise, human-readable summary.

## Requirements and Limitations

- To use Rovo Test Plan Summarizer, you must have [Xray](https://getxraydocs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/XRAYCLOUD/pages/44566344) and [Rovo](https://www.atlassian.com/software/rovo/guides/end-user-guide/what-is-rovo) installed.
- Rovo Test Plan Summarizer is subject to the standard [Rovo usage limits](https://support.atlassian.com/rovo/docs/rovo-usage-limits/).

## Usage
