This document outlines how AI-powered features within Xray handle customer data, including usage, processing, retention, ownership, and compliance.

# How AI Features Use Your Data

When you use [AI features](https://getxraydocs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/XRAYCLOUD/pages/1241974430), your input, combined with any additional context you provide (e.g., documents or project tickets), is securely transmitted to a large language model (LLM) via encrypted API. This enriched prompt helps generate contextually relevant results. No content is automatically applied - you must explicitly choose to accept or use it.

## Model Behavior and Data Residency

Xray's AI capabilities are powered by **[Sembi IQ](https://www.sembi.com/iq/)**, which leverages **external LLMs and** **infrastructure.** For detailed information on exact models, please refer to our Xblend Supplemental AI Terms and XBlend List of Subprocessors [here](https://www.sembi.com/legal/xblend/#tab2).

Key technical safeguards include:

- **Inference-only Mode: **we do not train or learn from your data.
- **Regional Data Isolation: **All AI interactions occur within your selected data residency region (US, EU, or AU), fulfilling regulatory requirements.

# Data Ownership and Privacy

All inputs you provide to AI, as well as the outputs it generates, are treated as **“Customer Content”** under our General Terms of Use. This means:

- **You retain ownership** of all AI-related data and outputs.
- **We do not share this data** with other customers or external parties beyond the listed sub-processors.
- **We do not use this data** for training or improving AI models.
- **AI features are optional**, and using them does not alter your rights or data protections.

## Transparency and Control

To promote transparency and control:

- **AI only processes the data that the user inputs into the AI feature,** such as specific requirements or Test details.
- **No AI-generated output is applied automatically.** You must explicitly choose to accept or use it.
- **AI outputs are not human-reviewed** before being returned to the application. Accuracy is not guaranteed and must be validated before use.
