# Introduction [Xray](https://www.getxray.app/) is a complete Test Management tool for [Jira](https://www.atlassian.com/software/jira). It is a full-featured app that does not require any other software to run. Xray supports the entire Testing life cycle:* *[Test planning](https://getxraydocs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/XRAYCLOUD/pages/44565044), Test design, [Test execution](https://getxraydocs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/XRAYCLOUD/pages/44565117), and [Test reporting](https://getxraydocs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/XRAYCLOUD/pages/44566291). We do this by using special Jira Work item types, so you can utilize all the Jira benefits that you are used to. Our aim is to help you improve the quality of your systems through effective and efficient Testing. That's why, from our first version, Xray already supports both manual and [automated Tests](https://getxraydocs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/XRAYCLOUD/pages/44565278), including full support for BDD framework (e.g. Cucumber, SpecFlow, Serenity BDD) examples/tests in the native language (i.e., English).
