# Introduction

Space Settings allow you to customize Xray behavior for individual Spaces by overriding selected Global Settings.

Space administrators can configure specific settings for their own Space, allowing them to tailor Xray to their team's needs without affecting other Spaces.

Company and Team-managed Spaces are supported by Xray. Additional manual configuration steps are needed for these Spaces, as you first need to create the Xray Work types manually and then [map these Work types with Xray entities](https://getxraydocs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/XRAYCLOUD/pages/44570637).

# Space Settings Access

> ⚠️ Users who need to edit Space Permissions fields must have [Admin Space permissions](https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/manage-project-permissions/) to modify these Xray settings within a specific Space. By granting Space Admin privileges, the user will have access to all Xray Admin settings, as well as general Space Admin functions.

> ⚠️ For example, the user will be able to assign roles to other users. Typically, a Space inherits the [Xray Global Settings](https://getxraydocs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/XRAYCLOUD/pages/44565853) established by the Admin.
