A defect represents an error, flaw, failure or fault. It means that the System Under Test (SUT) produced an incorrect or unexpected result. All the Work Item types mapped as Defect Work Item Types are handled as defects.

The Space administrator can choose which of the available Work Item types should be handled as defects by dragging the available Work Item types to the corresponding target box.

Don't forget to save the settings whenever you add a Work Item Type to the **Defect Work Item Types** box.
