As a Space administrator, you can define which Test Environments are available to your Space.

Test Environments can be either imported to a Space from the globally available Test Environments or created directly in the Space.

However, Test Environments are always managed within the scope of a Space; those are the ones that will be seen by your Space.

Test Environments created locally in a Space are also created in the globally available Test Environments, defined within the Jira-wide settings detailed in [Global Settings: Test Environments](https://getxraydocs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/XRAYCLOUD/pages/44568191).

By default, no Test Environment will be automatically added to your Space; they always have to be added explicitly.

# Single operations

## Add/Import a global Test Environment

1. Click **Add Environment.**> Macro (inline-media-image)
2. Search the globally available Test Environments, either by using the dropdown picker or by using autocomplete.> Macro (inline-media-image)
3. Select the Test Environment you want and click **Save**.> Macro (inline-media-image)

## Create a local Test Environment

To create a new local Test Environment, click **Create Environment**, fill out the following fields, and press **Save**:

- **Name**: the name for the Test Environment (a string of 2 up to 18 non-space characters)
- **Description**: the description for the Test Environment
- **URL:** the URL of the Test Environment

## Modify a local Test Environment

You can modify the fields of an existing Test Environment, except the name. 

1. Click **Edit**  on the table entry corresponding to the Test Environment> Macro (inline-media-image)
2. Change the values inline and **Save** them> Macro (inline-media-image)

## Delete a local Test Environment

Global Test Environments can be deleted from Xray. 

1. Click **Delete** on the table entry corresponding to the Test Environment.> Macro (inline-media-image)
2. Confirm by clicking **Delete.**

> ℹ️ 
> ℹ️ When you delete a Test Environment in the Space settings, it will not be deleted from the global Test Environments.

# Bulk operations

## Select Test Environments

Bulk selection of Test Environments can be achieved either from the top picker or by individually checking the Test Environments within the table.

When Test Environments are selected, an action button near the bulk selection icon will list the available bulk actions.

## Delete global Test Environments

1. Select one or more Test Environments, either by using the bulk action icon or by individually checking the Test Environments within the table.
2. In the button that shows the number of selected Test Environments, click **Delete.**> Macro (inline-media-image)
3. Confirm by clicking **Delete.**> Macro (inline-media-image)

> ℹ️ When you delete a Test Environment in the Space settings, it will not be deleted from the global Test Environments.
