# Introduction

[Document Generator](https://getxraydocs.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/XRAYCLOUD/pages/44565169) doesn't support Microsoft Word Charts due to third-party limitations.

To export charts in a Microsoft Word Template, you need to use [object linking and embedding](https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/office/linked-objects-and-embedded-objects-0bf81db2-8aa3-4148-be4a-c8b6e55e0d7c) Microsoft Excel Chart. This chart can be inserted using the Excel top menu: **Insert -> Object -> Microsoft Excel Chart**.

This will insert an embedded Excel book in your document, where the first sheet is a chart and the second sheet contains its data.

You can export number fields from Jira to this second sheet to populate the chart. Learn how to from the examples below.
