# Introduction

Atlassian has introduced a new Jira Cloud interface and updated several core terms used throughout the platform. To ensure consistency and clarity, Xray is updating its documentation to reflect these changes.

Xray maintains **two full documentation sets:** one for **[Xray Cloud](https://docs.getxray.app/page/xc)** and one for **[Xray Data Center (DC) (DC)/Server](https://docs.getxray.app/page/xs)** - totaling **thousands of pages**. Because of this scale, terminology and UI updates (via screenshots) will be applied progressively across the entire documentation site.

During this transition period, you may encounter pages that still reference the previous Jira terms. The information remains correct, but the wording may differ slightly from the Jira UI you see today. We appreciate your patience while we work through this large effort.

## New Jira Terminology

The following table summarizes the main terminology changes introduced by Jira Cloud’s new interface:

These updated terms will gradually replace legacy terminology across Xray documentation.

## What to Expect

- Updates will be rolled out in phases, starting with the most frequently accessed and user-impactful pages.
- Some content may temporarily reference **both old and new terms** to support users familiar with either version of Jira.
- Screenshots, UI descriptions, and step-by-step instructions will be updated progressively.
- Both **Cloud** and **DC/Server** documentation areas will be updated, though changes primarily affect Jira Cloud terminology.
