The Xray team is proud to announce the release of Xray 7.12.0, bringing several new features to Xray, including the Defect Traceability report, Xray Project Configuration via API, and Amazon S3 Storage support.

Release Highlights

New Built-in Report: Defect Traceability

Xray is introducing a new built-in report: the Defect Traceability Report. Similarly to the existing Traceability Report, users will gain complete visibility into all of their Defects, the Test Run that originated it, from what Test, all the way to the affected Requirements.

This new report simplifies the traceability from defect to requirement, making it easier to understand what requirements were impacted by each of the existing defects.

Note - the existing "Traceability Report" will be renamed to "Requirement Traceability" for clear distinction.

Configure Xray on an Existing Project via the API

We are excited to introduce the ability to enable Xray on Jira projects via the Xray API. With this update you'll be able to:

  • Fetch the list of projects from Jira with Requirement Coverage enabled using '.../settings/requirementProjects'.

  • Enable Xray Requirement Coverage on a project using '.../settings/requirementProjects'.

  • Add the Xray Issue Types and screens using '.../xrayIssueTypes/issueTypeScreenSchemes'.

This improvement will allow Xray to better suit large-scale organizations where multiple projects are created at high velocity, saving time by not configuring Xray manually for each project.

Store Documents in Amazon S3 Storage

We are excited to support Amazon S3 storage for Xray-generated documents like reports and Test results.

With this update, Xray documents can be generated and exported leveraging the Amazon S3 buckets configured in your Jira environments, minimizing disruptions to workflows by ensuring backward compatibility and reliability.
