What is a Test ?
Info |
---|
Before anything else lets first understand what it a "Test". |
In the Test Management World
In very simple terms, a Test is a sequence of steps coupled with conditions or variables, test inputs and an expected result. It is intended to establish the quality, performance or reliability of a piece of system, i.e., test target.
Usually, every requirement or objective the test target is expected to achieve needs at least one Test.
The success of the Test is determined by comparing expected and actual results.
Bellow its a general overview of how the different objects connect.

In Jira
A Test is a issue of type "Test" in Jira on steroids.
To create a Test as you able to see it will be just like creating an issue, the type of test we create will then be a case of what you choose in the moment of the "issue" creation.

Xray leverages all potential of Jira objects in its implementation, as such most of Xray Test Management elements are standard Jira objects. Yes - Your'e at the start but you probably already half way there in terms of working with Xray! |
