Overview
Storage is an Xray feature developed to help administrators manage their Jira projects' attachments, including Storage for Xray is primarily made up of attachments. These include attachments in test steps and evidence in execution results.
Xray data is stored separately in a dedicated database and does not count for the toward the attachment storage limit.
Before June 20/06/, 2020, Xray attachments were stored in Jira issues (namely , specifically Tests and Test Executions). Because the However, these attachments would often clog clogged these issues , and also use consumed storage space in Jira. To address this issue, we have since started to manage the developed Storage: a solution to enable you to easily and quickly manage storage for Xray project attachments.

- 50 GB per Xray instance for Xray Standard.
- Unlimited for Xray Enterprise.

Storage Limit?
After careful consideration, we have decided to start enforcing the Xray Standard Cloud attachments storage limit of 50GB on July 1st, 2024.
The storage limits are not currently enforced. If your Xray installation exceeds the storage limit, we won’t you will not be able to add any new attachments to Test steps nor Test Runs. We will not cancel your subscriptions or remove any data, as long as usage is in accordance with our the usage follows Xray's acceptable use policy.
Keep in mind we're planning to enforce storage limits soon. We’ll let you know ahead of time in case you want to upgradeRemember that you now have storage management tools at your disposal, so you can decide if additional storage is right for you and your team.

Track my Storage Usage?
At Xray Settings, you can check your storage usage and also conduct cleaning actions to free space or even upgrade.
