The Xray Exploratory App (XEA) is a desktop-based Exploratory Testing Tool that works seamlessly integrated with Xray for Jira. It allows users to define exploratory testing sessions, record videos, capture and annotate screenshots, take notes, and much more. It works integrated with Jira and Xray, but can also be used in a standalone mode (Jira and Xray are not required).  More info here.

To the Support Team, sometimes, it is really useful to see directly in Jira the problems/suggestions that clients reported, and this way, XEA is a great asset as well!

That being said, below are the steps to create a session to record a video.Please also use the XEA to gather information and send it to us when contacting the Support Team. 

Step-by-step guide

1. Please download the App to your Windows or iOS, in MAC at this link: https://www.getxray.app/exploratory-testing-app/ Exploratory Testing App - XEA.
   
   
   
2. Install de app. Open it and choose the option “Use go to the menu File and App Settings → Use the app without Jira”Jira.

3. Click on the button “Create a new test session”.

4. When the new window appears, please give a Title to the session, and if you want to add a Charter - description of the problem (optional), then click on “Start session” Start Session.

5. Select the window screen you want to record the session.

6. Click on “Record Video” Record Video.

7. Replicate the problem.
   
   
   
   
8. Click on “Stop recording” Stop recording.

9. If needed, add comments to your video. Then click on “Close” Save.

10. Then click on “End session” End Session.

11. After validating all the information, click on the “Export Session Report”.

12. Last but not least, send us the .zip file created, to we be able to have access to the Session Report.
