Storage handles the attachments of Xray entities based on your license terms. For further details on storage size specifications, please refer to the documentation here.

Figure 1 - Storage access

UI Step

On your Jira Cloud instance, click the Settings/gear icon button (Figure 1 - 1), and then select Apps (Figure 1 - 2).

A menu will open on the left side of the screen. Scroll down to Xray (Figure 1 - 3) and click Storage (Figure 1 - 4).

The Storage screen will open (Figure 2).

Here, you can:

  • Click the Refresh Storage Usage button (Figure 2 - 4) to update your attachments' storage usage information
  • Click the Need more space? What you need to know (Figure 2 - 1) button to open a panel with information about the Storage limitations (a Cloud account is limited to 50 GB capacity; Xray Enterprise has is unlimited storage ; both applied only to Xray attachments).
  • Click the Discover Enterprise Now button (Figure 2 - 2) and/or the Explore Enterprise Now button (Figure 2 - 9) to learn more about Xray Enterprise.
  • View the list of projects, and their respective attachements' information (Figure 2 - 7).
  • Use the search bar (Figure 2 - 6) to find attachments, and sort them by project, size, file format, and date of modification (Figure 2 - 8).
  • Click the Actions button (Figure 2 - 13) to:

Refreshing Storage Usage

The first time you access the Storage screen (Figure 2), your attachments list will be empty. So, the first thing to do is to click the Refresh Storage Usage button (Figure 2 - 4) to populate your attachments on the attachments list (Figure 2 - 7). Otherwise, you won't be able to see them listed (Figure 2 -7).

After clicking the Refresh Storage Usage button (Figure 2 - 4), a warning message is displayed indicating that this process can take a while, depending on the number of attachments on the instance. Once the operation is completed, the attachment list will be displayed (Figure 2 - 7).

UI Step

 After the refresh is complete, you will be able to see the current storage usage, by file type, together with the percentage and limit according to your license (Figure 2 - 5; 10).

Info

Due to platform constraints and performance, the refresh option is time-gated so as not to allow multiple or single-user abuse of this feature.
The remaining time will be displayed until a new refresh is possible.
