This page enumerates the Global Settings available in the Miscellaneous Configuration screen (Figure 1).

When this option is enabled (Figure 1 - 1), the cells of the Manual Test Steps table will be displayed in short-view mode, i.e., the rows will have a limited height to allow for better page navigation. There is an expand option within each cell to view the complete content.
When this option is enabled (Figure 1 - 2), you can edit the Started On date in the Test Execution Details screen.
When this option is enabled (Figure 1 - 3), all the Test Steps/Examples Statuses will be updated to FAIL whenever the status of a Test Run is changed to FAIL.
When this option is enabled (Figure 1 - 4), Test Runs can be executed inline, directly from the Test Execution Issue view screen. This option is only available if the final Test Run Status can be manually set.
When this option is enabled (Figure 1 - 5), its assignee will receive an email notification whenever a Test Run is created or assigned.
When this option is enabled (Figure 1 - 6), the Time Tracker module is displayed.
When this option is enabled (Figure 1 - 7), you can set the timer value of the Time Tracker.
When this option is enabled (Figure 1 - 8), the defects created in the context of a Test Run are automatically linked to the respective Test Issue.
When this option is enabled (Figure 1 - 9), the defects created in the context of a Test Run are automatically linked to the respective Test Execution Issue.
When this option is enabled (Figure 1 - 10), the defects created in the context of a Test Run are automatically linked to the Covered Issues being tested.
Statuses Available: In Progress, To Do, Done. |
Prevent Tests within certain workflow statuses from being executed or even added to Test Executions. Sometimes, a Test is still being written and should not be added to a Test Execution. In those cases, just indicate which Test workflow statuses are considered not ready to be executed.
Choose the workflow statuses in which the Test Execution Issues will not allow the execution of Tests. For example, suppose you configure this list with the Done status. In that case, you will no longer be able to execute Test Runs in this Test Execution Issue when a Test Execution Issue transitions to Done.
Select the source from which the label field will be inherited (Figure 1 - 13). The options are:
None.
Test - the system will copy the labels from the Test into the created defect.
Test Execution - the system will copy the labels from the Test Execution into the created defect.
Both - the system will copy the labels from the Test and the Test Execution into the created defect.
Select the source from which the component field will be inherited (Figure 1 - 14). The options are:
These settings allow you to control how long specific data is stored in the cache, reducing load times, which improves Xray's performance and responsiveness:
Figure 2 - Caching
Sets how long the Test Repository folder structure is cached. Longer durations help pages load faster.
The options are: No cache, 1 minute, 10 minutes, 1 hour, 10 hours, 1 day. By default, it’s set to 1 hour.
Sets how long Issue Types are cached (all Issue Types). Longer durations make pages load faster.
The options are: No cache, 10 minutes, 1 hour, 10 hours, 1 day. By default, it’s set to 10 hours.
A mechanism bypasses the cache for folders. When the system detects changes in data (folder creation, renaming, movement, or removal), the cache is cleared and the system will fetch the new data. |
When the enable icon to open test dataset directly option (Figure 2 - 1) is disabled, the Issues listed on the Testing Board do not show the dataset icon.
Once you're finished configuring, click Save (Figure 3 - 2) to make the changes effective.
